Richard J. McCombe was born in the Yukon, Canada and raised in Peru and Argentina, South America.  Attended St. Andrew's College in Aurora, Ontario, Canada and attended two years at the University of Toronto. Later attended the Alberta Institute of Technology and completed a 4 year apprenticeship in Heavy Duty Mechanics where he graduated at the top of class with an Inter-provincial certificate.

He is the owner/operator of Gussie Mae Ltd., an Esso On The Run Service Station and Convenience Store/Cafe located in Nassau.

Richard has been married to Carla (herself a past president of The Rotary Club of South East Nassau and owner/operator of Windermere Spas in The Bahamas) for 33 years, and they have two daughters Ellissa 29 and Meghen 27.
